We write this website the way we run the business: state the source, show the working, and say plainly what we do not know. This page is the honest-scope note for everything published on powersolutions.net.in. The short version: our guides, calculators and specification pages are careful general information — but a website cannot see your site, your load list or your consent to operate. Your statutory approvals, your consent conditions and your signed work order always come first.
The short version, in one table
| What you’re reading | Treat it as | What governs instead |
|---|---|---|
| Guides and articles | General information for India, dated per page | The regulation itself and your SPCB’s consent conditions |
| Calculator results | Indicative planning outputs from stated formulas | Site engineering, statutory approvals, your consent conditions |
| Specification pages | Figures transcribed from manufacturer documents | The manufacturer’s current datasheet and your work order |
| Brand comparisons | Editorial opinion, written under a disclosed dealer relationship | Your own evaluation for your own site |
| Project references | A record of our own delivered work | Nothing — but they imply no endorsement by the organisations named |
| The homepage film | An AI-generated visual, modelled on photographs of our own sets | The real machine on your site — which we will happily show you |
The rest of this page is that table, explained.
Guides and articles: general information, dated per page
Our guides — DG sizing, CPCB IV+ norms, stack height, noise limits, the compliance calendar and the rest — are general information for India. They are not legal, financial or professional advice, and reading them does not create any advisory relationship with us.
Two habits we ask of every reader:
- Check the date. Every guide carries its own “Last reviewed” date, and that date — on that page — is what tells you how fresh it is. Emission norms, CAQM directions and state circulars can change faster than any website; a page reviewed before the change will not know about it. Where a page promises a re-verification schedule, that promise applies to that page alone.
- Confirm before you act. Our compliance pages say it themselves: indicative guidance, never legal advice. Before you buy, scrap, retrofit or relocate a genset on the strength of anything written here, confirm the position with your State Pollution Control Board, your environmental consultant, or with us — your consent to operate can impose stricter conditions than any of the minimums we describe, and it prevails.
Calculators: planning numbers, not approvals
The two tools on this site do exactly what their pages say, using formulas and constants whose sources are shown on the page:
| Tool | What it computes | What it is not |
|---|---|---|
| kVA sizing calculator | Running load, motor-starting surge, non-linear load allowance and altitude/ambient derate from your load list, snapped to our rental ladder — every constant is sourced on the page | It does not model phase imbalance, loaded-start compressors or harmonic filters; an engineer confirms the final rating before any order |
| Stack height calculator | The CPCB minimum H = building height + 0.2√kVA, for sets up to 800 kW, with the source guideline cited on the page | The result is a floor, not a permission — SPCB consent conditions can require more, and they prevail |
Calculator results are indicative planning outputs. They are not a substitute for site engineering, statutory approval or your consent conditions. If a calculator result and your consent to operate disagree, the consent wins — every time.
Specifications: transcribed, with the source stated
The figures on our capacity pages are transcribed from manufacturer documents — Cummins India specification sheets for the model shown — and each page states its source — and, for verified fuel figures, the revision of the source document. Ratings are prime power per ISO 8528, and site conditions can derate output; fuel-consumption figures carry the tolerance stated on the page.
Manufacturers revise their documents. If a specification matters to your decision, the manufacturer’s current datasheet and your work order govern — not the copy on this website. Ask us and we will send you the current sheet for any model we offer.
Project references and client names
The projects and client names on this site describe our own delivered work — equipment we supplied, installed or maintain under contract. Naming a client or a project implies no endorsement, sponsorship or approval of this website by the organisation named. They hired us for power work; they did not review our web pages.
The homepage film: generated, and labelled as such
The short film that plays behind the homepage headline is AI-generated. It was produced from photographs of Power Solutions’ own Cummins DG sets and is meant to show the kind of machine and the kind of night we work through — not footage of a specific installation, a specific client’s site or a specific event. The captions over it are written in the same spirit: they describe what our sets do, not what that clip literally recorded. Every photograph elsewhere on the site is a real photograph of real equipment unless its caption says otherwise, and we will gladly show you a working set in person.
Comparisons: opinion, with the bias printed on it
Where we compare brands — for example Cummins vs Kirloskar — the comparison is editorial opinion grounded in the sources cited in the article, and it is written under a commercial relationship we disclose at the top of the article itself, not in the small print: we sell new Cummins DG sets as an Associate Dealer of Cummins Powerica, and we service multiple brands, including Kirloskar, under AMC. Read every comparison knowing exactly whose article it is — the article’s own “Where we stand” section exists so you can.
Third-party trademarks
Cummins, Kirloskar, Vertiv, JLL and every other third-party name, mark or logo on this site belongs to its respective owner and is used for identification only. Where this site states a relationship — Associate Dealer of Cummins Powerica, Authorised Service Provider for Vertiv Energy India, Registered Service Provider for JLL India — that describes our role. It does not mean those companies reviewed, approved or endorsed anything published here.
External links
We link out to gazette notifications, CPCB and CAQM documents and manufacturer pages because a primary source beats our paraphrase of it. We do not control those sites, a link is not an endorsement, and government documents do move. If a link on this site is broken, tell us and we will fix it.
Liability, in plain language

Nothing on this website is an offer or a contract: prices, scope and terms come in the written offer and work order we issue for your specific requirement, and that document governs. Nothing on this page excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.
